OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Diligent Urgent Care has been on the forefront of the battle against COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. While other facilities shut their doors, ours remained open and committed to servicing the community. We have been working with neighboring townships, schools, and universities to ensure testing is available to all in an effort to keep our schools, businesses, and communities safe. Here at Diligent Urgent Care we pride ourselves in our ability to adapt our practice as quickly as COVID-19 is changing our everyday life.

HERE IS THE TESTING WE DO NOW

Reference labs use molecular tests or RT-PCR (reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction), and the sensitivity of these tests is generally above 90%, with high specificity. Since there are over 100+ high complexity COVID-19 tests that have an EUA, it is advised to contact your laboratory provider for specific performance data.

ANTIBODY TESTING

  • COVID-19 IgG antibody testing, also known as serology testing, checks for a type of antibody called immunoglobulin G (IgG).

  • If you have been exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19, your body typically produces IgG antibodies as part of the immune response to the virus.

  • It can take at least two weeks after exposure to develop antibodies.

  • This type of COVID-19 test is for individuals who think they may have had COVID-19 and do not currently have symptoms.

RAPID TEST
ID-NOW AND SOFIA.jpg

ID NOW is one of the most widely-available molecular point-of-care testing technologies in use in the U.S. Since its introduction in 2014, it has been used in physicians' offices and urgent care centers to rapidly detect influenzas A & B, strep A, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Sofia SARS Antigen Fluorescent Immunoassay (FIA) uses advanced immunofluorescence-based lateral flow technology in a sandwich design for qualitative detection of nucleocapsid protein from SARS-CoV-2.

PREVENTIVE GUIDELINES

woman-with-mask_coronavirus.jpg

Many factors can cause certain individuals to be more at risk for contracting COVID and developing complications from COVID. These include but are not limited to - age, medical history, and social history.

High Risk individuals should take extra precautions during this time. Diligent Urgent Care providers have developed information tailored specifically for high risk populations and made it available for our patients. With this information you can determine if you are high risk, what measures should be taken to protect yourself, types of PPE to use, back to school/work guidelines, and information on test results

Majority of the population is considered to be low-risk for developing complications from COVID.

Diligent Urgent Care providers have developed a page with information on how low risk individuals can protect themselves and their loved ones, back to school/work guidelines, suggested PPE, and information on test results.
